EMDR Intensives
EMDR intensives are personalised treatment plans that zone in on specific treatment goals and are designed to fit into your preferred schedule and timeline to reach your goals.
EMDR intensives support those who feel like traditional talk therapy would be too disruptive to their already hectic lives and those who need to feel better now
EMDR Intensives are a more flexible model of therapy to provide you with the support you need quickly and effectively
Perhaps you’ve had a sense that something has to change, but you’re not quite sure how with your current therapist.
Perhaps you’ve been meaning to get into weekly therapy for a while now, but your schedule has been so hectic and demanding that a weekly therapy appointment feels more overwhelming than supportive.
Perhaps you’re needing help —- and a lot of it—- right now, and you don’t want to spend months in the traditional weekly model of therapy treatment to feel better.
Perhaps you need more efficient support as the busy parent and/or the working professional who has a lot on your plate.
The EMDR intensives method is evidence-based and research-supported
EMDR is the best of the research-supported trauma treatments because it is so effective, efficient, and well tolerated.

During EMDR intensive sessions we can often address:

More extensive or persistent traumatic events
Complex trauma
Negative cognitions / beliefs

What does an EMDR intensive look like:
EMDR Intensives are extended sessions.
This allows us sufficient time to dive deep into the issues and get a lot of work done in one session before sending you on your way.
When we can do this for two, three or four sessions that's MONTHS of traditional 1-hour weekly therapy sessions progress within just a few days time.
EMDR Intensive Programs are specialised to meet your needs.
-
What is included in an EMDR Intensive Program:
A 50-minute pre-consultation interview to assess for suitability and to figure out if an EMDR intensive is the right fit for you; if it is not the right fit, we will provide you with suggestions for other therapy options.
A 90-minute intake assessment to understand the unpleasant beliefs, body sensations, emotions, or images from which you are seeking relief.
A customised treatment program with targeted treatment goals. Therapy with Samantha is done either in person or virtually. Typically, an EMDR intensive program consists of 1 – 5 intensive sessions.
A 50-minute post-treatment follow-up appointment to assess and support your adaptation to positive changes from treatment.
A Personalised treatment workbook, which allows you to work on your treatment goals before, during, and after our intensive sessions.
